When did the 2026 NMJL card come out?
The National Mah Jongg League mails new cards to members each spring, typically late March into April. The 2026 card followed that schedule and reached most players in early April. What's new for 2026
Every April, the NMJL replaces the entire card with a new set of winning hands. Here's what shifts:
- All winning hands are new. Hands from 2025 are no longer valid for official 2026 play.
- Year hands feature "26". The Year section at the top of the card builds patterns around the digits 2, 0, and 6.
- Strategy shifts. New hand combinations mean approaches that worked last year may need updating.
- Concealed-vs-exposed mix changes. The balance between blue (concealed) and red (exposed) hands changes annually, affecting gameplay.
