NMJL Card for American Mahjong (2025 & 2026)
The NMJL card is the annual card of winning hands published by the National Mah Jongg League. Every American Mahjong game is played against the current card: your 14 tiles must match one of its patterns exactly. A new card is released each spring, and the 2026 card (April 2026 to March 2027) is the current one.

The hands on the NMJL card are the League's protected content, so we do not publish the full card or its patterns online. To see the complete winning hands, purchase an official card.

What's on the NMJL Card?
The card organizes winning hands into categories. Our free guides explain how each category plays, without reproducing the protected patterns:
- Year hands: themed on the current year's digits, often the easiest starting point
- Quints: five-of-a-kind hands that require Jokers
- Consecutive Run: flexible runs of adjacent numbers
- 369 hands: built around the numbers 3, 6, and 9
- 13579 hands: odd numbers only
- Winds and Dragons: honor-tile hands
- Singles and Pairs: concealed-only, high-risk and high-reward
